Multiscale Basses

Why settle for one scale length when you can have several at once? Multiscale basses spread the frets out in a fan so that each string gets its own scale length: a longer one for the low B, a progressively shorter one for the high strings, resulting in a tighter, more defined low end, while the top strings remain easy to bend. The strings also fall more naturally under your fretting hand, which is surprisingly comfortable. Whether you’re into progressive metal, jazz fusion or just want something that looks like it came from the future, these basses deliver extended-range tones and a playing feel that straight frets simply can’t offer.
