From 12 String to E-Classical: New CLG-70 12 String and Nylon Crossover-CR

Black top, rosewood fingerboard, twice the strings: the Harley Benton CLG-70SR 12 CE SBK doesn’t play game. Twelve strings for a big, glittering chorus – it’s a grand auditorium with a cutaway, built to shimmer in the studio and plug straight into the PA. Selected A grade solid Canadian Sitka spruce top, braced with scalloped X-bracing. Back and sides are selected Sonokeling rosewood, for warmth and depth under all that sparkle. The smooth C-shape neck in nato is joined at the 14th fret with a dovetail joint, and carries a sonokeling rosewood fingerboard with a 380 mm radius, a 649 mm scale and a 48 mm bone nut. Twenty premium silver nickel frets, mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and a double-action truss rod. Built to be plugged in: a Fishman Sonicore pickup feeds a Fishman Presys II preamp with an integrated chromatic tuner, so you can tune a dozen strings quickly. Sapele mahogany armrest maintains comfort, with matching body bindings. A classy mahogany rosette ties it together over a sleek satin-black finish.

Crossover to Classical

Nylon strings, stage-ready attitude: the Harley Benton Crossover-CR CE is a classical guitar by heritage and a stage guitar by design. Solid Canadian cedar top gives the guitar a warm voice, while rosewood back and sides add depth and sustain underneath. The body shape is classical with a cutaway and a sapele mahogany armrest. Joint at the 12-fret by a nato neck and rosewood fretboard carrying a 380 mm radius with 19 silver nickel frets. A 650 mm scale length and bone nut with a 48 mm width makes it a comfortable switch for players coming from a traditional nylon-string, and a friendly starting point for steel-string players who want to cross over. On one end, classical tuners in chrome with ebony buttons, strung to a rosewood bridge on the other. Plugged in, the Fishman Presys II preamp takes over with a built-in tuner and brings the guitar’s natural voice to the amp or PA. It’s the kind of guitar that makes you slow down and play a little longer than you planned. Sapele body binding and mahogany rosette with gold diamond pattern round off the look.
